Who told me that this game helped pull them out of a tough time in their life. Who asked if they could just shake my hand and say 'thanks.'

"This franchise has helped me make friends that I never would have met, and got me through really tough times in my life," one petition signer says.

More than 400,000 people have signed a petition urging Sony and Bungie to develop Destiny 3 after Bungie ended active development of Destiny 2 with its final major update in June and shifted its focus to Marathon.

The petition, launched by @LUCKYY10P, argues that after more than a decade of the Destiny franchise, players deserve a true sequel that will "keep the fire of the Guardian spirit alive."
