BREAKING: A 45% risk for severe winds has been issued across much of the Delmarva today, where multiple storm clusters this afternoon could have the possibility of producing widespread damaging wind swaths. Almost 10 million are in the bullseye, and this is the first 45% wind risk or greater in this region since March 16th!
With today being the 4th of July, it will be important to keep an eye on the weather today, as these storms could threaten holiday plans well into the evening. Highs will also be in the 100s for the 3rd straight day in this area!!!
Cat-5 Super #Typhoon#BAVI is barreling toward Mariana Islands with estimated winds of 140 knots. There's till some spread in ensemble models, but most bring center between Guam & Saipan/Tinian, very near Rota (pop. ~2K). I'll head out to Taiwan or Japan to hunt BAVI next week.
What a beautiful sunset. Less than an hour until I get to see my family and spend time with additional family for the 4th of July while the Explorer gets worked on. Once the Explorer is ready itโll be chase time again!
The sun has begun rising on Category 5 Super Typhoon #Bavi. This storm has nothing but pristine conditions ahead of it and will likely maintain/continue to get stronger on its final approach to the Marianas Islands.
