@ButNotTheCity Again 1000%. Am I glad to have experienced Wisconsin cheese? Of course! Do I also look forward to the opportunity for Quebec cheese? Also yes!
@ButNotTheCity Oh that is 1000% true and again why I think they’d be a worthy curd to concede to. I think our hubris in WI is a jack of all trades, master of none situation. I think our consistency of cheese quality is S-tier, but to claim any specific cheese as the absolute best goes too far.
@ButNotTheCity I’m biased growing up in Wisconsin that we’ve got pretty good curds and yet to find a solid competitor in the US but would gladly concede that Quebec could have us beat

In addition to my article now being published, I have to fangirl for a sec about being in the same issue as and listed right next to Florence fucking Ashley. Thank you @ButNotTheCity for being such a badass this budding trans academic can look up to.
I wrote an article on Ken Zucker and anti-trans bias in research literature and it’s out in @TransStudies now!

Incredible new article in the prestigious journal Pediatrics, a top medical journal, finds legislative attacks on gender affirming care "is harmful to children and amounts to state-sanctioned medical neglect and emotional abuse," and that gender affirming care saves lives. (!!!)
@ButNotTheCity Other favs though would definitely be your critiques of ROGD and gender exploratory therapy and your paper on informed consent models in trans health
@ButNotTheCity So many though! I feel like your conversion therapy book sums up a lot of your stuff but may be a copout answer, and I tragically haven't got to the GI paper yet (will after this semester) but assume it will be on there for me.
Cis is only a slur to those who can’t handle no longer being seen as “normal,” as the default, as the center of society.
You’re already given the world, and yet, you demand more.
Unpack your insistence that people on the margins validate your privileged existence.
New paper in the Lancet confirms gender-affirming care is preventative care.
Confirms:
- GAC is linked to improved quality of life
- GAC is an integral determinant of well-being
- GAC increases positive psych outcomes
- GAC must be considered preventative mental healthcare
Re: Jonah Hill’s gross texts: my therapist honestly changed my life when he stopped me from saying someone was “violating my boundaries” and explained that boundaries are values you impose on yourself and your own behavior, not rules you can enforce on other people.
I’ve had a lot of good ideas in my life, and dinner at a Golden Girls-themed restaurant with @XTaffi and @The_Root_System for last dinner in San Francisco is definitely in the top five
