In two days we will see the first review of the #COMMUTE project. Doing the rehearsal right now and I am so proud of our consortium, because they are all doing so well … simply phantastic science
Inflammation in the brain can be beneficial or pathogenic. It varies across neurological diseases. And many new ways are emerging to modulate it
An outstanding new review @ScienceMagazine https://t.co/R6AEcg80xj
A protein produced by the pathogenic bacteria Helicobacter pylori can block amyloid proteins from clustering, new @ScienceAdvances research finds. https://t.co/9d8YT6IIKT
Dear Science Network, I am so happy to announce our second symposium "AI in the Life Sciences - an Industry Symposium", which will take place on June 23 and 24 at Schloss Birlinghoven (yes, we do have our own castle for events like that ...).
This year it is all about AI for Medical Research Data Management (including federated learning) on day one and about AI for Precision Medicine and Trial Simulation on day two.
We are super proud that we were able to convince an entire series of outstanding speakers coming from industry and academia for this symposium (including the director of the @IHIEurope , Niklas Blomberg).
Please join us in June for this outstanding event in a truly outstanding location.

Yet another important activity that corresponds to what we are doing in #COMMUTE : the #AIPD Graduate School Network coordinated jointly by @frohlich_holger and Ciara Chianese from Novo Nordisk will raise new talent in the field of #AI and #Parkinsonism in a Marie-Curie network.
Start of the real kickoff of #AIPD
AIPD is a Marie-Curie Doctoral Network funded by the EU.
The network has 15 partners and a strong focus on industrial application aspects of „AI in Patkinson‘s Disease“

So, using LLMs as interfaces, we enable access and utility of very heterogeneous evidence sources.
We paved the way for his approach in IMI-AETIONOMY 10 years ago, building the AETIONOMY knowledge base.
Now, we finally reach out to medical evidence.

The COMMUTE Evidence Base (part I)
In COMMUTE, we intend to build a new type of integrated data- and knowledge-resource that goes far beyond a knowledge-base.
The COMMUTE Evidence Base is adding a layer of formalized evidence to data and knowledge. [1/n]

The authors write: "The key feature of our model is its ability to adapt explanations to match each audience group's knowledge level and interests. Our approach still offers timely insights, facilitating the decision-making process by the end users."
