1. Let's talk about freelance bioinformatics.

Starting from February 2021 I am registered as a freelancer bioinformatician in our local tax office.

Why is it good to be an author of this blog?

After/during my week I got an invitation for a collaborative freelance bioinfo project, used links to my Twitter threads here (instead of long explanations) 6 times, received 3 additional inquiries from people I don't really know

Summing up - even with ~70 followers such a format may be beneficial to the author, not only to the followers

So please if you know someone or you want to do it yourself - text me whenever you feel good about it =)

11. Be sure that you can distance yourself BEFORE you come to the clinic.

Most of my colleagues can. I had problems initially and it took me maybe a year to get in peace with the situation, but it is still tough sometimes.

10. It takes time to disprove claims about the extraordinary performance of such tools. Some MD comes to you and hands you a paper where 95% sensitivity/specificity for CNV detection is claimed and you have to explain why it is not what it is.
