Hey everyone, let me explain why X suddenly asks you to “Add phone number or email to continue” even when you’ve been logged in for years:The app (client) sends a request to the server: “Verify this is my account.”
If your internet lags even for 2–3 seconds, the server’s response doesn’t arrive in time.
Instead of waiting or using your saved session, the app assumes you’re not logged in.
Boom — it throws you to the “add phone/email” screen.

This is a classic case of poor error handling. Good apps would show “Loading…” or use cached data. X is too aggressive and resets the state at the first sign of network trouble.Basically, the client is impatient and the server can’t respond fast enough on unstable connections.
