@parthaskar Wishing you strength to stay standing and the continued compassion of those around you for the inevitable "stumbles". I have found that grief is like a tide, sometimes you're at the water's edge, others on the pebbles but you can always hear the waves. All the best x
It’s never “Devlin is out with a dead leg (1 week)” or “Schmid is out for 10 days with a minor concussion”.
It’s basically always “Murphy has contracted the Bubonic plague and is unlikely to survive, Lang’s Hamstring has covid again and Shaughnessy has simply gone blind forever”
Cell transplants and immunosuppresants forever. Okey dokey.
It's not a cure for me. It's T1D managed in a different way with its own different dangers away from regular flavoured complications. There'll likely be folk who'll benefit from it. So, as an option, cool.
A cure isn't a different treatment. A cure is normal functioning beta cells and insulin, just like those weirdos who don't have T1. For that, I'll truly celebrate your guaranteed nobel prize. Until then, I'll manage this thing as best as I can.
@ChimpSquared@shahidkamal I also realise it was a general statement. This platform generally can only be used to get "updates" rather than anything social. Media without the "social" if you will.
@ChimpSquared@shahidkamal I get it, however as someone who is phenomenally shy and in all honesty, fearful of social interaction, I generally leave that to others and happy to watch/listen
@shahidkamal 'Code is Just' was honestly beautiful to read if not both heart-breaking and at some parts soul-destroying in equal measure. It is was and is also uplifting and fulfilling, so if you do decide to migrate to another platform I will happily follow to listen some more
@diabetes_chat Definitely a decade after I was diagnosed before I encountered peer support. Peer support for a chronic illness has got to be a number one. A problem shared is a problem successfully told to bugger off for another day.
@diabetes_chat All of those that "lead" peer support communities deserve a lot of credit for using any of their time for it, no matter what "ideas" don't get followed up on
@diabetes_geek When you have that weird third person experience and realise that almost everything you do has been driven either in the first instance or if not, caused another thought that revolved around T1. It's a colossal burnt out feeling that never seems to go to anything but embers
@dietcoket1d Having started on the same at the end of last year...1) Make sure you have the right app on your phone (CamAPS FX) and 2) do the training on the app as doing it online will mean you have to do it twice. 3) just noticed this was yesterday. Hope it went well!
