@keithbaldrey It's the pencil crayon colored pinstriping along the middle of the pencil holder component that makes the image. I generally employed a Bic pen for that task! #retroschoolsupplies
@PerHaydenMeier @dansmit2003@ThomasHaneySD42 Yeah...and don't even get me started on the challenge of finding a reasonably priced hour glass time of decent quality. #goodsandonly
@bychrischeung@TheTyee@LangeAlexandra Thanks for this! Listened to @LangeAlexandra on @cbc and hoped for more follow up. We offer an Urban Studies course at our high school. For many students the transformation of the shopping mall is such an unexpected source of discussion & field trip resources
@iamkennethchan Agreed. It's just that I can't see people running down, then up those escalators as being sustainable. Maybe an engineering marvel could lead to the construction of an Edmonds station style overpass. But yeah, it might just have to stay the way it is
@ClaireKraatz@anasalhajji Those are fine organizations for students/teachers who are inclined to engage. But practical discussions of issues such as when it is feasible to use glass over plastic could be used to engage others. The "constant crisis" mode that is sometimes employed can often be tuned out
100 years ago, Sumas Lake in #Abbotsford had a baseline size of about 40 sq km.
With spring freshet, it grew larger, up to 134 sq km. That's the combined size of UBC + Vancouver + New West.
A single pump facility prevents the lake from reforming.

THSS & Thunder Hockey alumnus Brad Hunt has signed with the @Canucks! Great acquisition. Quality powerplay specialist & all around team guy! Big congrats to Brad & family. Welcome back #thssalumni#thssice#peacelandandselfdirectedlearning
Brad Hunt has agreed to terms on a one-year contract valued at $800k. He appeared in 12 games with the Wild last season, scoring one goal and recording four penalty minutes. The Maple Ridge, BC born Hunt has played in 191 career NHL games with EDM, STL, NSH, VGK and MIN.
@aidanrps19 His THSS Math teacher (and school coach), Eric Proctor, said he would make the pros - even when he went undrafted. Blistering shot for PP and all around smart player!!
@DouglasFerr2@a4_alpha@sjm_345@fundstrat I'm looking forward to new books that explore/combine analysis of market & behavioral psychology. Wondering how "prospect theory" relates to the decision to be vaccinated or not. Anlys of decision making & emotion goes beyond dividing people into categories of left/right/center
@JedAnderson4444 @iamkennethchan@DouglasFerr2 Gondolas would serve only a limited purpose in Vancouver rn. One from Sunset Beach/West End to Granville Island, and then to Broadway might be an idea. Another could compliment the SeaBus crossing to the North Shore. They were pretty popular & efficient during #Expo86
@iamkennethchan @JedAnderson4444 @DouglasFerr2 LRT might work if tunnelled under Burnaby Mountain with an elevator from the underground station to SFU. Similar to the Portland MAX Washington Park station. LRT could proceed west along Hastings. However, this would require ridiculous engineering & very high overall costs
