I believe that enforcing a music quota for Canadian music on the radio gives less popular, equally as talented Canadian musicians a higher chance of being recognized. American popular music can be overwhelming to Canadian music due to reputation. #MUS2011

@Abbott_391 I disagree, a lot of cover bands and musicians perform amazing on a stage. And I think it is always interesting to hear the different methods and unique styles put into the cover songs they play. studio sound is tuned and altered, live music is uncensored. #MUS2011

@j_chapman_19 I agree jack. Live music has a completely different feel compared to recorded music that we listen to on our devices everyday. Hearing a live band is a great mix-up and unveils a higher energy. #MUS2011

I would have to disagree with Wald. I listen to recorded music more because of its accessibility, but it doesn't give me the same energy as live music. Especially for dancing, I would much rather hear live music. Even if it is a cover band. #MUS2011

@aprilleanneMUN I agree with your statements. The music was written in the original form for an original concept. Reproducing the same song with new sounds just for a different cultural background us unfair to the original writer. Write your own songs for your own meanings!! #MUS2011

I believe that the new music was deemed "schlock" for the change in the music against its original version/meaning. Record companies changed and altered the genre to bring something new to the music industry and gain popularity in different social groups. #MUS2011

Ray Charles used his broken voice to develop a unique sound. It was sparky and caught attention! This directly reflects his talent as a musician to create and reproduce "catchy" jams! #MUS2011

Apple music has significantly expanded my personal music horizon. I have discovered more music that I generally enjoy listening to. These music applications take note of music that you are interested in and generate playlists you might enjoy for future discovery. #MUS2011

the media industry has definitely influenced false needs onto various listeners by the means of materialistic attitudes; needing expensive objects to be a "somebody". Although I believe not all popular music portrays this attitude. #MUS2011
