For four years the story was that a bank closed Trump's accounts because it hated him politically after January 6. Capital One just told a federal judge, in a sworn motion, what actually happened. More than three hundred Trump affiliated accounts were closed in 2021 after months of analysis by the bank's anti money laundering team, flagging transaction patterns that matched federal banking guidance for this kind of review.
This is the first time any bank has formally tied money laundering concerns to Trump's business in a court filing. Banks do not make that claim lightly, since it creates its own legal exposure if it is not documented. Capital One says it never accused the Trump Organization of actual illegal laundering, and never publicized any of this at the time because federal banking secrecy law barred it from doing so.
A federal judge already tossed two earlier versions of this lawsuit. Capital One is now asking for a permanent dismissal. A nearly identical suit against JPMorgan over Trump's personal accounts is still working through the same argument.
Some breaking news this morning that’s not getting the coverage it deserves: We caught Tillis on camera and got him to agree to meet with the Epstein survivors ahead of a vote on Todd Blanche. They sat in his office for 45 minutes before his staff told them he wasn’t coming.
NEW/EXCLUSIVE: Deutsche Bank failed to promptly report to US authorities more than $250M in suspicious transactions tied to Jeffrey Epstein, including funds used to pay women in Russia & other Eastern European countries, according to a new report from @RonWyden

Two days ago a major US bank said in a court filing that Donald Trump's accounts appeared to be involved in money laundering.
Money laundering. MONEY. LAUNDERING.
Neither yesterday nor today was he asked about that by the WH press pool.

The IRS audits every president. It can audit you. It no longer audits Trump -- because he used his control of the government to exempt himself. Immunity no other American has. https://t.co/bIjVziEpmT
Bank accounts held by President Donald Trump were closed by Capital One in 2021 after it flagged financial activity that had characteristics of money laundering, the bank disclosed in a court filing over the weekend. https://t.co/OOpJQ4qwMF
JUST IN: Capital One says it closed hundreds of bank accounts associated with President Trump and his businesses in 2021 "for anti-money laundering reasons," according to a recent court filing from the financial institution.

NEW: Epstein survivors are blasting Sens. Cornyn and Tillis for avoiding meetings with them and ultimately, despite DOJ’s failure to reassess its evidence and account for its treatment of survivors, supporting Blanche. “They wanted us to go away,” they say.
What this means: every federal agency is now barred from investigating or prosecuting the President, his family, his associates — and an undefined universe of others. Not just taxes. Any offense, civil or criminal, known or unknown, as of the day this directive dropped.
Todd Blanche is still weaponizing his office to protect Donald Trump instead of the American people.
Sen. Mark Kelly said on Sunday that the Trump administration is "flailing" in its war with Iran, while urging the president to use a different tack to find a way out five months after the conflict began. https://t.co/NtO7zs2x97

Rep. Mike Turner said on Sunday that critical infrastructure assets "need to be hardened" as federal investigators probe whether Iranian hackers were behind malicious cyber activity that affected technology at water systems in Minnesota and several other U.S. states last week. https://t.co/PrKqlx7gzn
Unlike Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq, where reporters embedded with U.S. troops documented the conflict from the ground, the war with Iran has largely been seen through government-produced videos, presidential social media posts and limited official briefings, leaving Americans with fewer independent accounts of what their government is doing in their name, @margbrennan notes.
This is what the Trump propaganda machine looks like at/around the Pentagon.
They’ve been moving pieces for a year and half—from kicking out the Pentagon press corp to refusing to do weekly press briefings to denying embeds.
And now, they can more effectively hide the realities and costs of war. And evade accountability.
None of this is normal in America.
And none of it is acceptable.🚨🇺🇸
That’s false: the scientific community has investigated every single fake assertion from Kennedy and the antivaccine activists: 1) starting in 1998 with their false assertion about MMR, 2) then Kennedy wrote that ridiculous article in Rolling Stone in 2005 also retracted, 3) then Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carey paraded around in green t shirts saying we have to “green” our vaccine ecosystem and separate vaccines, all BS, 4) then it was aluminum also debunked. Meanwhile DHHS refuses to acknowledge the role of several hundred autism genes and also refuses to investigate actual known environmental toxins that interact with autism genes like valproate. This is all to benefit the corrupt wellness influencer industry, it’s all about their filthy lucre
I worked for New York’s largest medical center at the start of the pandemic. There were morgue trucks on the streets. They set up emergency medical tents in Central Park. Healthcare worker colleagues died. It is horrific that RFK Jr is on national TV lying that ICUs were empty.
