Following a great webinar from @LaSalleEd by @StudyMaths on planning better maths lessons in less time, I used a structured variation grid the very next morning. Took me a few minutes to sort. Really interesting to decide what to show and what to leave blank!

Saw a lovely task today by @CoombsMaths
A class of 30 students
A bag of 1000 counters.
An X is marked on one counter
Take it in turns to take and *keep* a counter
The person who gets the X wins
Would you rather be first to pick? In the middle? Towards the end?
Gut instinct?
I went to a local pool at the weekend. Apparently the depth changes whether you are working in imperial or metric 🤨🤣. #mathseverywhere#nodiving#badmaths

@LaSalleEd@EmathsUK I attended this course a couple of years ago and it has completely transformed my approach to teaching mathematics. The benefit we have seen in our school in just two academic years is incredible. It just makes complete sense.

After watching the brilliant @LaSalleEd two sided counters CDP, I want to try teaching nth term using them. How can I show/find the nth term of -3,-1,1,3 or similar using counters? And maybe a decreasing sequence? @StudyMaths
