@Himoverthere11 Sadly I think hospital staff just wanted someone else to sort him out…as soon as we arrived on scene they all started to slope off. You have to challenge otherwise you’ll quickly end up picking up the pieces to something you can’t really solve

@StudentPcda Exactly, if we’re not careful then 136 just becomes a blunt tool that’s used inappropriately. There’s a limit to what we as police can do to support people like this - 136 is a good emergency power when necessary but just because we can doesn’t mean we should

@E_bygum @PD_Sable @insp_rebus I work in a very deprived area, with a lot of our DPs if we open the door and say ‘see ya good luck’ straight out of custody they’re likely to OD or engage in further criminality before they’ve even managed to make their way home. If I can prevent that then I will!

@E_bygum @PD_Sable @insp_rebus It’s really not that deep - they’ll usually get someone they know to pick them up. Failing that, we’ll give them a voucher for the train but if I’m driving near their house on my way back to the Nick anyway then they can jump in with me
