My thesis: the winners in entertainment won't be whoever has the cheapest capital. They'll be investors who pair capital with the ability to produce, co-owning IP, activating audiences, developing the talent that builds the next catalog. The audience was always the asset class.
Nobody ever bought a movie ticket because Paramount distributed the film. People buy tickets because A24 made it. A distributor became a brand by owning its audience directly: newsletter, membership, merch, screenings. That's not marketing. That's infrastructure.
The best operations in music all run the same four-layer stack: Ingestion collects every fan touchpoint. Unification turns touchpoints into people. Intelligence turns people into signals. Activation turns signals into revenue. The audience finally has a system of record.
You don’t become dangerous by learning more. You become dangerous by needing less. Less validation, less approval, less reassurance. The fewer emotional requirements you carry into interactions, the harder it becomes for others to control your behavior.
