One way to activate Granville Strip without raising taxes is to expand digital advertising in carefully selected locations between Georgia and Davie.

The revenue from those screens can fund street programming, public art, entertainment, cleaning, and additional policing. Simply pedestrianizing Granville isn’t enough. People need reasons to stay and celebrate.

Keep the patios. Bring in live music, performers, DJs, and other entertainment. Make it a destination.

Also it should primarily be an entertainment district for adults. Families are absolutely welcome, but not every part of the city needs to be programmed around toddlers. Family-focused programming belongs in places like Robson Square. Granville should embrace its identity. Once it’s cleaned up and this is in place you’ll see more businesses open that fit the vibe.
