A coffin has been carried through the streets of the Cathedral Quarter followed by The New Orleans Funeral Band in protest at the absence of Culture Night which was last held in Belfast three years ago.

@righttobikeit Check your front hub bearings. If one disintegrated, it will lock the front wheel instantly. Happened to me once, bent the top and downtube back, and threw me over the bars
Pale Blue Dot is a photo of Earth that was taken by the Voyager 1 space probe in 1990 from a distance of about 6 billion kilometers (3.7 billion miles) as it was leaving our solar system. This is what Carl Sagan said about the photo:
"Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it, everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor, and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every 'superstar,' every 'supreme leader,' every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there — on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.
The Earth is the only world known so far to harbor life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could migrate. Visit, yes. Settle, not yet. Like it or not, for the moment the Earth is where we make our stand. It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known.”
@chorltonsfinest@LawCheryl They have traffic engineers whose professional KPIs are to minimise stationary vehicles and maintain mean traffic movement speed. Pedestrian movements are not considered
I’m not quite sure how to explain what’s happened tonight, because it’s still happening - but here goes…
At 4:40pm I jumped on a train from London to Edinburgh..
It was comfy, it was quiet
In hindsight, too good to last…
If you want to find out about the Belfast Bicycle Network - afraid you'll have to communicate with @deptinfra via Freedom of Information requests.

@HolywoodCyclist Areas of white diagonal stripes or chevrons painted on the road. If the area is bordered by a broken white line, you should not enter the area unless it is necessary and you can see that it is safe to do so
@frank_broadcast I feel your pain. Happens to us at least once a month. The lovely people attending the church beside us don't like to be late, so they park and run. Ironically, there are cones in front of the church entrance, and signs saying respect our neighbours (but go and park elsewhere)
@JuicyMangoes82 @pjinbt8@Mickmac45049764@frank_broadcast No loophole, even if it is your own driveway. No-one is permitted to obstruct access or egress from the public road across an approved access/egress
