@sciantificnew Hi, this wasn’t my experience. We were special measures in the old framework and were recently inspected. We had to demonstrate that we had no areas that were ‘urgent improvement’ to leave special measures. This included expected and needs attention grades. Hope this helps.
Check. Adapt.
A useful resource for teachers shared by the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF)
Many misunderstand, so pause and fix.
Some are unsure, so adapt support.
Most understand, so extend and support.
Teachers make so many decisions each day, this resource offers helpful advice about what to do & when informed by evidence captured in a lesson.

@dan_ofsted is there a timeframe in which the new monitoring handbook will be published? (Current one is Sept 2024) Will the previous guidance of re-inspection timelines be kept to despite the change in framework (eg 30 months for re-inspection for those in a category?)
@KarinaGarrick@llewelyn20 This wasn’t the feedback a leader shared from their recent pilot inspection. Context wasn’t taken into consideration any more than under any previous inspection… I was hopeful too.
Hi. Just to clarify. There's no evidence to say 50% of Pupil Premium must be spent on teaching, 25% on targeted support & 25% on wider approaches. Those figures are a guide. Financial spending (& time spent on implementation) should be guided by pupil need, staff need & evidence.
There is an update to the @EducEndowFoundn Pupil Premium guide, now in digital form, with lots of super input from @rs_network colleagues. Congratulations to @kirsten_mould in pulling it all together. I hope school and system leaders find it useful. https://t.co/5AUoH0IEUU

“Disadvantage” in education is so often reduced to money or test scores. But what we’re really talking about is class — and the barriers, visible and hidden, that still hold pupils back.

Mitigating the impact of low family income - focus on those things we can control. Hope this can act as a useful starting point for discussion in school. Thanks to @CathyPotter24 for inputs and refinement. Effective implementation underpins everything.
