Assembloids have emerged as a powerful tool for studying previously inaccessible processes of development and tissue homeostasis.
While initial #assembloids were developed to model human brain development, there are now models for most organ systems, from the bladder to the heart and gastrointestinal system.
In our new article in @CellStemCell, we summarize recent advances in the generation and application of neural and non-neural assembloids to explore complex cell-cell interactions.
Effort led by @massimo_onesto and Ji-Il Kim in the lab
Very happy to see that our collaborative paper together with the group of Miriam Stoeber @MiriamStoeber, and Steven Ballet is now online. Many thanks to all authors and contributors to this story.
