@lukeready1@KeithMcCullough Their etfs are vehicles for their best ideas. In terms of putting a portfolio together and using their process, we can help.
@RPKent @Hedgeye@HedgeyeAM @SamofAmerica @dsaleminvestor When benchmarked to the S&P, what are the most important decisions to make to beat the benchmark and how/when to execute. Also, when a quad 4 hits, do you stay invested and move to low beta or are you raising cash? How to adjust to the different cycles.
@jontificate And why any discussion of politics ends up being a bad thing. Unless that’s the sole purpose of being on here. No win situation. And too bad, I Enjoyed your thoughtful takes on the Hawks.
I am fond of Tom Lee.
But in late July (when $IWM was trading at $220) @fundstrat predicted a +40% rise in the Russell Index by Summer's end.
Summer has come and gone and IWM is trading below the July levels at the time that hyperbolic and uber confident forecast (which led to numerous appearances on Fin TV platforms).
Here is the link Russell 2000 will see a 40% rally by the end of the summer, says Fundstrat's Tom Lee
Being wrong is fine ( we all get things wrong) but overconfidence and not taking ownership and the failure of the business media to revisit that forecast is not fine. Unfortunately the pattern of emphasizing winners and ignoring or deemphasizing losers is consistent one. It would sure help if the biz networks time stamped and memorialized panelists/guests recommendation in order to ascertain the value of their opinions. (This would serve as value-added journalism and separate the weak from the chaff and distinguish the media as being less sensationalistic in seeking headlines and more sober in giving good advice).
Few criticize the media for fear of losing access... Me, I don't give a crap. @dougkass@tomkeene@ferrotv@lisaabramowicz1@business@cnbcfastmoney@HalftimeReport@KeithMcCullough@jonesy@hedgeye@Convertbond@pboockvar@SaraEisen@andrewrsorkin@carlquintanilla
Do you HAVE to leave your hometown to be successful?
We hear two sides.
My take is… It’s easy to stay the same when the scene does. Maybe too easy.
Your people love you as you are now. They fear losing THAT you.
Your hometown will be there.
But if you truly want to change, maybe you need to get to a place that IS changed.
What do you think?
Do you need to leave where you came from to be successful?
After all….
California. Latin America. Texas.
Just a few of the places I’ve spent parts of my life in.
Where you’re FROM matters.
I’m from Arizona.
And my Arizona is different.
It isn't the green, golf course laden tourist trap.
It isn’t the Scottsdale made for partying and spray tans.
It isn’t the better tax code and the Californians scrambling.
My Arizona is wild.
It’s thunder claps so loud they shake the house, heat so hot you shoes stick to the asphalt, rain so heavy the smell of creosote rubs off on you. A state where the electricity in the storms sets your hair on edge and the dust storms block out the sun.
We do nothing halfway. We’re not a 40 mile an hour crew. We are 0 to 120. Whether it’s our gun laws, our real estate market or our hot sauce, ain’t nothing mellow around here.
A seeming little state with a big attitude, that’s my Arizona.
Just because it’s a land you left, doesn’t mean it isn’t a land you love.
Which begs the question… do you have to leave to win?
When cheap fares and direct flights still aren’t worth it. @Allegiant , supposed to arrive at noon (FLL), for lunch and to enjoy a day in Florida. Now 6:40pm and still stuck on plane on tarmac. Will now also miss dinner reservations. Thrilled about the $50 voucher though!!!
