@LexitMovement1 Propaganda. The Church is Israel and all the promises are fulfilled in the bride of Christ. Christians are God’s chosen people. Without Christ there’s no salvation for any one. Rom 2:28
@CatholicClint@rjward1775@sola_chad Or I do understand it and just disagree. Your opinions and assertions mean nothing.. If we are just opining or asserting; however, the onus is on you. You want Protestants to accept Romes teaching of purgatory. You made the claim.
@CatholicClint@rjward1775@sola_chad Then by that we don’t worship the same God. We worship the Trinitarian God they do not. You can’t remotely state they’re in covenant if they deny Christ. They worship an idea of their own god.
@CatholicClint@rjward1775@sola_chad The first Century Church baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Yet we have conflicting views from the Fathers on purgatory being a thing for all believers. It took 1200yrs to formally define something that was so clearly believed in and taught? 1/2
@rjward1775@CatholicClint@sola_chad Note there’s multiple Church Fathers that go by the binary of Heaven and Hell; however, to be honest I don’t put my faith in their writings. It’s just a glimpse of what men thought contradictorily.
@CatholicClint@rjward1775@sola_chad 2/2 Irenaeus of Lyons, Justin Martyr, Athanasius Of Alexander didn’t. So I’ll I appreciate the history insight to beliefs of these men they have no certainty and are contradictory to each other. The scriptures can only offer that certainty.
@rjward1775@CatholicClint@sola_chad So an apocryphal book that’s not part of the canon? No, Hebrew version exists. If you’re speaking of the Septuagint. It’s a historical book but that’s all.
@rjward1775@CatholicClint@sola_chad Vat II states that Muslims and Christian’s worship the same God. Pope Francis said the same…I thought the CCC disagreed; however, I was wrong. Point is the denial of Christ as Son, redeemer and mediator means no salvation for “them”. The scriptures are clear. No true Church1/2
@rjward1775@CatholicClint@sola_chad I’m familiar, however, Vat II counsel states contrary to what the Catechism teaches on this point. Per my example that’s one of the reasons i state the RCC has a hard time defining itself to the world.
