How did I miss this. Great point.
So where are all those members that returned to West Van. And Abby, and New West?
Infact the only people that left SPS received promotions back in their muni departments.
@courage_red I thought these were classes of 24 experienced members...the majority of which were SPS...guess not. ๐คฃ I also don't hear KTRIS complain when the caption says some of the Troup will be deployed into ERT/Federal Policing...what does Ivan usually say "sweet heart deal"...
@OliverLilah @courage_red@keep_bc @blueoil23 @WalterRJohnsto1 I think your fooling yourself if you think Doug doesn't have control. He pushed for Lipinski to be hired by SPB & meets with him regularly. And as I'm sure your aware I do NOT support SPS as it's been a flawed plan from Day 1 @keep_bc@DebbieTheilmann
Yes, and the RCMP canโt supply those resources. Over half of all RCMP troops at Depot have been cancelled. All troops that were not cancelled are only graduating less than 12 Cadets. And Yes Walter, they are approved to run 24 person troops, not 12.
@OliverLilah @HilaryT75527886@courage_red@keep_bc @blueoil23 What's needed for our city is adequate resources for the rcmp - something McCallum hasn't provided. Now we're paying for a watered down version and getting 0 in return. SPS has proven, multiple times not to be progressive and is definitely not what the citizens want or can afford
@courage_red awww Coward - you say the nicest things to me (sometimes I blush). The truth is, 3 weeks before the 2018 election McCallum told his coalition to stop talking about the transition as it wasn't resonating with folks. TRUTH.

His idea was one many, many people agreed with. Enough people to get him into the Mayors seat.
He had an overall idea. The implementation of that idea and the details were left to the SPS and the experienced Police Officers that manage it.
@courage_red Agreed. Just remember he's the person who drummed up the idea of SPS & the chair of the SPBoard. Maybe now you will realize why the citizens of Surrey are not happy. @keep_bc @blueoil23 @WalterRJohnsto1
@keep_bc Your post makes me wonder if you have ever completed anything in your life.
No plan remains unchanged once it is set in motion. How you continually cling to V1.0 details is sad and shows how tone deaf your organization is.
The KTRIS trolls never confirmed how many were in the troop. They just confirmed it was โ100% full.โ
A lot of smoke, mirrors and announcements over 11 hires. They would never run a troop of 11, always a round number. So the question is, was it supposed to be 24?

@WalterRJohnsto1 @OliverLilah @HilaryT75527886@keep_bc @blueoil23 Ok Walter, Iโll play your game. If Doug approved 200 more RCMP members for Surrey tomorrow, how long would it take the RCMP to fill those spots?
@You_wont_do_it@HilaryT75527886@courage_red@keep_bc@WalterRJohnsto1 @blueoil23 My post was related to sheer quantity. KTRIS supporters vilify a single SPS member without charge approval. Meanwhile RCMP members have a plethora of incidents where members are charged, and convicted of a myriad of issues over decades.
@keep_bc Then why 11? As the RCMP always run courses with even numbers, could they not have found a 12th person? So 11 really was the end of the line for people willing to join?
Disappointing. I fully expect 24 in the next troop, as you claim there will be.
So @keep_bc, are you saying the RCMP is not taking 6-8 months to process security clearances for dispatchers in Surrey, or are you saying that the dispatchers are ok waiting 6-8 months and donโt go find other work?
@courage_red Its the work load and making less than other dispatchers in the region . Dispatchers having been leaving for 18 months. But hey keep spinning as the election is closing in :). ๐ณ . Board Chair McCallum is really knocking it out of the ball park right now.
Wrong, biggest challenge is hiring due to RCMP incompetence. How can you let a security clearance unit get that far behind?
Yes Surrey OCC staff make less than their counterparts (like the RCMP did for 5 years) but it is not the biggest challenge.
@courage_red Biggest challenge has been folks with years of experience leaving due pay and work conditions. McCallum diverted way too much money to failed SPS. Maybe he will hire them at his new 60k stadium.
