Hello! We are the Coalition for Virginia’s Future.
Today, the largest student-led organizations in Virginia are coming together to form the Coalition of Virginia’s Future (CVF). We aim to uplift youth-led organizing work and promote a youth-inclusive vision for our Commonwealth
Virginia students see through Glenn Youngkin’s platitudes.
His education policy plays politics with students lives, and GenZ is going to hold him accountable.
Glenn Youngkin just fumbled around on CNN trying to justify his harmful education policy that targets students.
@PrideLiberation was outside protesting his attacks and @genratifyva was inside asking him the hard questions.
VA youth showed up tonight. We won't ever back down.
As Youngkin talks to a national audience about his education record, let's remember how he treats Queer students. He wants to:
❌ Forcibly out students
❌ Implement a trans bathroom ban
❌ Misgender and deadname students
Students are fighting back. Retweet if you're with us.
Callie Walsh is correct! Glenn refuses to listen to the students he claims to serve.
In May and September, students walked out to protest his restrictive stance on abortion access and his harmful transgender model policies.
He hasn’t responded to either action. #CNNTownHall
Glenn Youngkin claims to believe in “small government,” but supports government censorship of libraries and extremist abortion bans.
Callie Walsh’s student perspective on this issue should be amplified, but Glenn Youngkin doesn’t care about Virginia students. #CNNTownHall
The @PrideLiberation Project held a protest outside of @CNN headquarters in D.C. ahead of @GovernorVA Glenn Youngkin’s town hall on education. High schoolers here tell me they don’t feel heard and are being hurt by Youngkin’s transgender policies.
YOUTH CAN AND WILL BE THE CHANGE! We shut down HB1669🔥
Minimum Age for Minimum Wage: Virginia Bill Would Pay Workers Under 18 Three Dollars Less Per Hour | Dogwood https://t.co/uwlA052xQp
Check out the CVF in the VA Mercury!
House panel narrowly backs legislation to lower the minimum wage for minors https://t.co/qCBVYFEcnU via @MercuryVirginia
HB1669 will disproportionately impact:
• Black and brown families
• Youth in rural communities
• First or second-generation immigrants
• Low-income families
🚨Link in bio to send an email to committee members asking them to oppose 🚨
IMPORTANT: Del. Marshall’s HB1669 would lower the min. wage for all individuals under 18 to $9/hour. We will NOT stand for this. Youth deserve to be paid equally.
CURRENTLY: Passed subcommittee, on its way to the House of Commerce & Energy. Link in bio to take direct action!!!
Proud to have testified in defense of HB1669, a bill that would severely underpay and undervalue youth workers✊Special shout out to @abbykgarber for representing youth at the subcommittee meeting
TCI's @borja_hannah stood alongside #YEEREviction and @CoVAFuture to defend Virginia's youngest workers and educate lawmakers on the harms of #HB1669, which would lower the min wage for people under 18.
We #ValueYouth & there's is still time to put a stop to this harmful bill.
Our first joint in-person lobby day was a success! Together with @prideliberation @generationratifyva @vayd_teens @vateendems and @voterstomorrow, we met with 75 delegate and senator offices about LGBTQ rights, student rights, labor rights, and abortion rights.
GenZ is the face of progression and we will not be silenced. We are loud. We take up space. We are here to remind legislators that youth have a stake in politics.
Definitely a highlight of the day - meeting with high school and college students from the Coalition for Virginia’s Future. They passionately shared concerns about abortion restriction bills
Today, representing @genratify @genratifyva as part of @CoVAFuture , alongside some amazing youth organizers, I met with members of the Virginia General Assembly to demand the protection of reproductive justice and bodily autonomy in the Commonwealth.
