Our first joint in-person lobby day was a success! Together with @prideliberation @generationratifyva @vayd_teens @vateendems and @voterstomorrow, we met with 75 delegate and senator offices about LGBTQ rights, student rights, labor rights, and abortion rights.

Yesterday, I lobbied with @CoVAFuture representing @genratifyva. I led a small group in lobbying for bodily autonomy and defending against the abortion ban. So blessed to have met all these AMAZING youth organizers. GenZ are the trailblazers of progression!

Today is the 50th anniversary of Roe v. Wade.

Bc our Constitution does not adequately protect abortion, it's the 1st anniversary without Roe as the law of the land.

Our Constitution must explicitly prohibit sex discrimination to truly defend abortion. We need the ERA. #ERANow

2023 marks the 100th year of the Equal Rights Amendment—a century without delivering equal rights for women & all people. It was wonderful to meet with @genratify & feel the energy of our youth.

The fate of abortion shouldn’t be determined by who holds the majority in a legislature or court.

If the Dems want to codify Roe, they must publish the ERA.

I have a good feeling about 2023. The ERA turns 100 this July!

With leaders like @RepCori & @RepPressley on the Hill & young organizers like @genratify on the ground, the ERA’s future is looking bright.

But it takes all of us to make something a household name. We ALL got this.

We all know the Green New Deal. We know the Assault Weapons Ban. We understand these 2 policies as clear solutions to real-life problems & rally behind them.

The energy and excitement we felt in her office was overwhelming. As @lynesewallace said, their office is a movement office, a home for movements on the Hill.
