⭕ Israel’s restrictions on incubators and oxygen entering Gaza have left hospitals with major shortages, forcing staff to place two or three premature babies in one machine, AFP reports.

Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis has no spare incubators; other hospitals are full and can’t accept transfers.

Amid Israeli restrictions manufacturing shortages of food, medicine, and fuel, one in three pregnancies is high-risk and 70% of newborns are premature or underweight, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs says. Sharing incubators further raises the risk of death.

UN investigators say miscarriages, stillbirths, and congenital defects have risen as Gaza’s health system collapses.

US banks are, in fact, allowed to operate in Canada. Quite a few are even registered to do so.

They choose not to run full consumer operations here because Canada requires them to follow the same laws as Canadian banks when it comes to things like consumer protections and sufficient reserves for fractional lending.

Those regulations are why Canada has not had a bank go under in 30 years--a time span which has seen over 600 US banks enter some form of receivership.
