Another postcard from the field today, courtesy of guest Caroline K - thanks, Caroline!
Today's two superb stars, Dusky Large Blue and Lesser Clouded Yellow.
Copper is bright but gold is brighter and pure honesty, pure love and nature-awe that is held by you, shines in the least possible self-reflective way, Jon- itโs a treasure thatโs veritable, leads to longevity and to sincerity (others can eat dust & berries)!
This year's been a tough one, dealing with cancer and surgery. This time last year, I'd no idea what lay ahead. But like my favourite butterflies, the coppers, I'm going to burn bright. I've lots I want to achieve - books to write, and to see the pleasure @Mariposa_Nature brings.
We've two super field-guides to give away!
Just like this tweet, follow us, and retweet it by 10am on 10th November, let us know in the retweet whether you're #teambutterfly or #teamorchid, and we'll draw two lucky winners, one for each book, next Friday.
Good luck!

Reenadina wood in Killarney National Park. The largest remaining yew forest in Europe, it has existed for at least 3,000 years.
It's a unique and wondrous place, with ancient trees whose amazing shapes take the breath away...
Being in France really brings home how depleted Britain is of wildlife. Within 24 hours I'd seen scores of plovers, martins and stilts, a violet carpenter bee, kestrels, a weasel, a hummingbird hawk moth, swallowtails, insects of shapes I've never seen before.๐งต 1/8
