GNC engineer on various moon landers. MSc astro @CUBoulder, MSc EE&CS @ESIEEParis. Twitter activity only reflects me. Author of Nyx, the astrodynamics toolkit
Version 3.5.0 just published! Rust functions are now more idiomatic and especially, hifitime is now available as a Python package: https://t.co/uYBVflD102 !
@timClicks Yes: where does the name come from? Can we rename it to `diamond` to one-up Carbon since they're trying to adds some guarantees to C++ for folks who don't want to learn Rust?
I hope the @FSWWorkshop organizers don't mind that ChatGPT is a co-author in the abstract to ANISE -- a formally verified and thread-safe re-write of SPICE. Chris de Claverie, Greg Henry and I are working hard to include many more of SPICE's features. https://t.co/n6oX7TMroc
This is truly unusual.
Today, Advent International said it is buying Maxar, $MAXR, for $4 billion.
$MAXR gets no options activity.
Yet yesterday 4 min BEFORE close, huge $MAXR $25 calls expiring 2/17 were bought.
They are up ~1500%, turning ~300k into nearly 6 million.
#ChatGPT confidently #hallucinates that the CCSDS has published a Time Division Multiplexing standard. It has not. Instead CCSDS TDM standard is about Tracking Data Messages, used for orbit determination.
I'm moving Nyx back to Github, but I want to adhere to my issue template. #ChatGPT just allows this trivially. Here it is writing an issue to support CCSDS Maneuver Messages using the template. Rendered here: https://t.co/hVEUS7Op9D
@xkcd If you need a precise time computation library in Python and Rust, check out Hifitime : https://t.co/8t212Laa4q. It handles time scales, as in the difference between UTC, Ephemeris Time, GPS, and many more. It also won't mess up the time offsets since everything is in nanoseconds
AFRL has selected Advanced Space (of CAPSTONE fame) to develop a cislunar space situational spacecraft called Oracle. It will also test a green propellant called ASCENT, and will include a refueling port. Contract valued at $72M. https://t.co/x0HcZZnOhC
@fasterthanlime Is there a good authentication Middleware that works with axum? Can one just use the middleware libs of tower? When comparing axum with ecosystems like rocket/actix, I worry about the amount of boilerplate code
With lunar arrival only six days away, #CAPSTONE is close to tonight's lunar #eclipse. Dodging Earth's shadow is important for our #spacecraft as it relies on solar power — when it's not in view of the Sun, it can't charge its batteries!

@DegenerateConic Python user guide is now available here: https://t.co/KkPxGyl3K8 Writing it also shows me that there were some limitations compared to the Rust version
Need a date time library in Python that supports different times scales (TAI, UTC, TDB, ET, and TT) with exactly one nanosecond precision? Hifitime is now also publised as a Python package: https://t.co/uYBVflD102 !
@github copilot, with "public code" blocked, emits large chunks of my copyrighted code, with no attribution, no LGPL license. For example, the simple prompt "sparse matrix transpose, cs_" produces my cs_transpose in CSparse. My code on left, github on right. Not OK.

Hifitime 3.3 just released! In addition to being the most precise time library (exactly one nanosecond precision for 32,768 years before and after 01 January 1900), and being μC friendly, it is now formally verified to not crash! https://t.co/5UasF3K8ln https://t.co/jiq5c4PCTU
@philipwhiuk@AndrewParsonson@ArianeGroup That's true. But the difference is that none have captured the market yet. Whereas for small launchers, Rocket Lab and the much large Vega have captured it, along with the rideshare options on larger rockets like F9.
@philipwhiuk@AndrewParsonson@ArianeGroup Another conclusion is that the micro launchers market is saturated and by the time these companies reach main stream, others will have too. Other things they could focus on are space tugs, docking and refueling, etc. Products for the future where competition is minimal.
