@contactelectri3 We use MK grid gear usually. Recently we got a load of M2 grid stuff and the quality was so much better compared to mk. But MK is always designed into our specs so we usually have no choice.

@Richard28022411 @BBCLookNorth You're wrong. Payback on a solar array with export payments is around 6-7 years. Payback on solar and batteries can be as low as 5 years despite the initial higher cost, depending on how effectively you use it. It isn't government propaganda, the technology just makes sense.

@Gorty674623 @WhichUK Not "extremely" limited. Just less than ICE. Not many people need 600+ miles of range. Not "stupidly long". My car charges while I sleep and in the rare event I need a public charger, there are a lot about and it can charge in half an hour, time for lunch and toileting.

@jwflame My guess is the meter install loosened a terminal in the cu. An electrician attended and judged the install to be so old he couldn't work on it and offer any guarantee. But of course "everything was working before" is the key phrase here. I hope the ombudsman sees sense.

@ACampbe36885200 @EddiCurrent @STVNews I'm a spark. There's no way a meter exchange could have caused any fault that would lead to a full rewire. The meter installation may have loosened terminals on an aged installation then the electrician who turned up judged it was so old he couldn't work on it. That's my guess.

@STVNews What complete nonsense. There's no way on God's green earth that a smart meter installation would lead to a full rewire. I cast doubt on the legitimacy of any electrician claiming so. I hope the ombudsman sees this too.
