@KatieUoNteach@oxfordlearning@SophieDryden5 I agree too! Collaborative, community-based learning is essential for students to create holistic, meaningful connections to the subject matter.
Does healthy eating affect a student's learning? π€
Check out this video by @oxfordlearning which outlines how healthy eating can affect learning in the classroom. It is a great resource to show to students as well!

@madigoddard9 I am the same! Definitely looking at Communication as it is essential for healthy learning in the classroom. I will also be looking at the 21st Century Learning Skill 'Creativity' in my Project.
Bloom's Taxonomy, but digitalised!
As educators in the 21st Century, we are always trying to appropriately and effectively include technology in the classroom. This is a great resource the combines 21st Century learning with Revised Bloom's Taxonomy.

@madigoddard9 Great idea @madigoddard9 ! And thanks for the share of the resource - it is so important to teach students about the relationship between mental health and good health and wellbeing.

This beautiful book introduces some healthy fruits and veggies in a fun and engaging way. It is a great starting point for discussions around healthy eating, that can then stem into other topics (e.g. sustainability, cultural eating, etc.).

@madeleine0899 Definitely including Science and Mathematics! A great way is to go through recipes or even students creating and cooking their own recipes - includes procedural steps (English), the science behind cooking (Science), and measurement/quantities (Mathematics), and more.
@madigoddard9 @KobeHar48482214 @Megan48699918@PoultonJorja Great idea! I think educating students on meditation/breathing techniques is a great way to teach them some practical ways that they can regulate their emotions. Check out @headspace_aus or @Smiling_Mind for some great meditation resources!
What a great resource!
This website has a wealth of fun, engaging resources to teach #SDG3. It has a variety of different types of resources as well, like worksheets and interactive games to teach nutrition.

This website about health & wellbeing contains colouring sheets, interactive games & recipes. My favourite activity is a game involving the cookie monster! He describe his feelings & you have to label his emotions. Check it out!

A great way for students to truly understand what their plate should look like. It is also interesting that the two posters are different. An activity may include students analysing the two and discussing the differences. Thanks for the share Jorja!

In order for students to have good overall wellness and mental health, they need to be eating a healthy balanced diet. The photos below are a guide for ALL people to use when thinking about eating healthy. This would be great to analyse in class! #EDUC4750#UonTeach
@MrRoseTweets Some fantastic ideas around #placedbaseded, and great incorporation around ICT! I find that including ICT, like you mentioned, is often a more in-depth way of approaching topics. It fully engages the students and allows them to approach topics from differing perspectives.
...think carefully about how to scaffold process skills (such as critical thinking/problem solving, collaboration, and self-management)βin addition to scaffolding studentsβ acquisition of core content. https://t.co/kldGznZPa5

@HoskingMiss@HealthyKidsAU Such a small percent, I had no idea! I think that incorporating community into the classroom is a great way to get students excited about vegatables. So getting guest speakers from the community garden, visits to the canteen/cooking classes, or even visiting the school garden!
@MarlieShore This is a fantastic resource! Thankyou for sharing. I like how in each section/area, they go into specific details about how it relates to each KLA. I will definitely be using this as a guide in my #SDG3 unit of work.
SDG FREE RESOURCES! π₯οΈ
@TheWorldsLesson has a vast variety of free resources specifically designed for teaching the #sustainabledevelopmentgoals. You can filter by age, goal, etc. They also address a multitude of learning styles https://t.co/FAIqf9b6KB

@KatriceHubble This is great! What a great way to get students thinking about the holistic nature of #goodhealthandwellbeing. I find visual brainstorming activities, like this one, to be a highly beneficial way to include all students in thinking about a topic - accessing all prior knowledge.
@SophieDryden5 This is a great resource! I love how the topic of healthy eating can be integrated into every KLA. I liked @madigoddard9 idea about incorporating Mathematics. Here is a similar resource that I found that looks at healthy eating lessons within the KLAs.
