The non tech savvy designer industry is fascinating to observe

Meaning people’s literacy on tools and whatnot is rooted in their likeness for certain tools not efficiency

But design taste still isn’t quantified

I have been a Figma fan for years but kept hearing about Paper, so I finally gave it a try.

I’m building a design resource for one of my Shopify clients website.

Same prompt in both. Just had it pull from the url I gave it. Paper nearly one-shotted it. Figma result was so funny to me.

AI lowered the entry floor to various skills, and through that threshold -> FSIQ becomes the signal (for something like design talent). You can easily generate pretty looking things today, and these designers are essentially serving slop directly from the trough to other people that have totally outsourced their thinking.

it is fascinating to observe but also quite sad - the allure of revenue sharing on here steers them into becoming this pseudo-expert where they feel inclined to share things from the trough to build a trough-circle.

you and the person behind that account live in two completely separate worlds. complete divergence of realities, mostly from AI psychosis.
