I’m worried how much we are talking about reopening and how little we are talking about testing, contact tracing, supported isolation and quarantine, and outbreak management.
Let’s reopen safely this time.
#ThisIsOurShotCA - so great to hear from Dr. Sehdev at our @HamHealthSci Town Hall about how we can all support vaccine confidence and protect our friends, family, and community. Not to mention ourselves. @cityofhamilton#MyHHS
1. Covered the ICU tonight. Our 2 med-surg 13-16 bed units are only COVID, we have 8 on V-V ECLS and we have taken over 5 beds in our Cardiac surgical unit. Have never seen this in my career. A single disease process dominates so many ICU beds. And leads to more issues.
I’m grateful to the tireless efforts of @VaxHuntersCan. They’re amazing. But the very fact so many of us are reliant on a group of tech-friendly volunteers (rather than an effective government portal where one can pre-register) to find out where to get vaccinated speaks volumes.
@BrucePSquires Danielle’s Place in Burlington is a wonderful resource, Bruce! My daughter is the Coordinator there! I’ve added the link below.

“I guess the numbers surprised us, but in retrospect, really, they shouldn’t... The kids were really challenged by legitimate worries about the world, legitimate worries about themselves, they’re experiencing stressors from school." @mch_childrens Social Worker Cheryl Webb.
