Some pervert activist found a way to trick Grok into accepting pictures of children, that they themselves supplied, and add bikinis and sexualized bullshit. This is not cp, but it is disgusting, so safeguards were quickly put in place to stop creeps like that anyway.
That doesn't matter to activists, though, of course. They don't care about children, they did it for the soundbite, which they still try to exploit, as seen today.
So no, I don't give a flying fuck.
The guy is a content creator. He makes a living off views and engagement. He's not stupid. If you set aside the dishonesty, what he's doing makes perfect sense for his purposes.
If you make an outrageous claim, people will fall over themselves to correct you. It's predictable, it's a running joke on Stack Overflow. And if you completely ignore their earnest rebuttals, and just double down, they may raise such a stink you may even go viral.
Case in point. Even us here, we're talking about him.
I think you are quite right on your item 2, the guy has terminal EDS, but that makes it all the better for him! Imagine that, on the course of your job, you also get to disparage the man you hate. That you get paid for it. I bet that must feel very rewarding for him.
And I don't think he sees a moral conundrum, I this he's amoral. I mean, I can't read his mind, of course, but I think he just doesn't care. When Starship is fully operational, and breaking records like F9, and the AI constellation is up an running and making billions for SpaceX, this guy will just act as if he never said anything. He'll find something else to run his mouth about, to try and rile people up for attention. You'll see.
Anyway, please forgive the rant. It's just, to me at least, this seems obvious, and I wish more people would see through him. Cheers.
@RussellPolo@LundukeJournal Funny, I don't tolerate systemd, I use runit. Instead I wish X11 would just die already. I'm still on Xorg because Wayland Xfce is still experimental, but can't wait to switch, soon as it's minimally stable.
Anyway, apparently neither of us will use this new Flatpak lol.
@VrilNyeX I think space exploration and colonization ought to be the main focus of humanity.
You morons may just make it impossible to build infrastructure for large scale computing on Earth, thus ensuring SpaceX's competitive edge and revenue.
I salute you 🫡
If someone is selling mac and cheese for $20, you'd make your own, sell for $19 and take all that money for yourself. Why wouldn't you? Don't you like money?
Of course, that wouldn't last. The guy will undercut you at $18, and then some other guy will cut you both at $16, and so on and so forth, until the margin is so thin it's just not profitable to go lower.
That's how you get cheap stuff.
The way to insanely expensive stuff, like for instance drugs and medical care in America, is by piling up regulations, and allowing patent thickets and other legal hurdles to entry. When a newcomer has to navigate a legal maze, deal with ruinously expensive litigation, and afford decades of trials to satisfy the FDA and/or whatever other bureaucrat body involved? That's how Eli Lilly, Novo Nordisk, and Sanofi get to control 90% of the market, and you get $250 insulin, or whatever insane price you're paying now.
If you wanted to lower the price, you would remove regulations and government interference, not add to the pile. Want to pay $25 for that vial? Make it actually feasible for entrepreneurs to enter the market and undercut those three. That's all you have to do.
@ArchbspMegtrnQC@peterrhague Yes, I'm sure you'd love to go back to paying Putin for Soyuz rides.
I mean, Dragon is substantially cheaper, but you can't let Musk save NASA money, that's wrong because rocket man bad.
