"TA943"... Five digits with HUGE significance for those with Type 1 Diabetes in the UK. TA943 is the new NICE guidance on Hybrid Closed Loops via NHS.
(Our son has been DIY "looping" for 4.5 years and it has been LIFE CHANGING).
Thank you @parthaskar 🙏
Disappointed to see @AmazonUK is closing AmazonSmile with only 30 days notice. Excuse given is "not as much impact as we had hoped", yet it raised over £2m per year in UK alone and benefitted many smaller charities.
Finally got to experience Wonder by @tomlawton in person this weekend thanks to the new #TwistMuseum on Oxford Street. It's like all the best bits of the Science Museum in one museum. Recommended.
Thank you to everyone who attended and donated at our London Ball!🌟 It was a fantastic evening with £125,000 raised. Special thanks to our host @AdamJSmithy, as well as our ambassador the Rt Hon @theresa_may. Read more here: https://t.co/Ziodb0OODc #Type1Diabetes#T1D

@JohnRentoul Luckily we already have the Road Traffic Act 1991 (s.7 "A person who rides a cycle on a road dangerously is guilty of an offence."). Cycling dangerously (eg. speeding) is *already* an offence under the Act. https://t.co/uhTrR5oKh8
@bewestisdoing@Tims_Pants@Jazzsethi95 I think the UK restriction is due to concerns it could affect the *donor’s* active insulin levels (rather than receiver). Looked into this recently after both our teenage kids randomly announced they wanted to give blood as soon as they were allowed…
An important issue of principle. A drug that is beneficial to a smaller patient group (people with type 1 diabetes) should not be withdrawn because of commercial concerns about a ‘possible’ reduction in prescribing of the same drug to a larger patient group
Wow. Within a few hours of this blistering piece by @eddiemair on LBC this afternoon both Sunak and Javid have resigned from Cabinet. https://t.co/MCnyZJ3IVn
There is a story doing the news rounds this morning that Sunak has cost the government £11 billion by failing to manage government interest rates properly. But the real story is much worse than that. This is about banks winning at cost to us all, yet again...a thread to explain.
I thought the issue with New Coke was that it was preferred by consumers (200k Coke+Pepsi drinkers alike) in *blind* taste tests, but this didn’t take into account emotional attachment to the brand…. Source: https://t.co/aX1Xs3KMtX
Type II Errors are when people assume a negative relationship and are wrong. When rolling out New Coke, the Coca-Cola company tested it on people who didn't drink Coke, who liked it more than Pepsi, but never tested it on regular Coke drinkers, assuming they would like it! 3/9
Important statement from Revenue Commissioner and Director-General of Customs, Gerry Harrahill, here.
The best way to facilitate trade is via engagement with the private sector and streamlining processes.
