@MeghanEMurphy To be clear, I like this—very sensible. To be humorous—I play two or three games when I’m on a long flight. My wife of 35 years hasn’t said anything. Do you think we’ll make it? When I got married, video games were mostly in bars, stores, and arcades—an occasional pastime.
@bobbybaltimoree @JohnPAngelos The problem is we have a “poor” owner who uses the Orioles as his main livelihood. Instead of his team being one of several recreational interests such as a mega-yacht, a castle in France or other such sidelights in the context of great industrial wealth, he has only the team.
@dude_ohio@TheBabylonBee One time my wife and I loaded the entire household except for the washing machine. Not worth the risk of lifting it 3-4 feet ourselves. Sensibly, we recruited 2-3 guys to come home with us after church the next day.
@egbd27 My uncle broke his hip like that in 1967. Age 42. Fully disabled the rest of his life. It was judged a workman’s comp. case because he had exited the house to go to work.
@WESH I survived Alafaya Trail and Univ. Blvd. Since I was struck on the first day of a winter break, I was able to teach the first day of spring semester after breaking my arm and hand, big toe, and having my shoulder reconstructed.
@wtfdoiwritenow I always taught it at advanced levels as one of the 17 rules for comma usage but have tossed it aside in retirement. It is precisely incorrect in other European languages that I studied, and I worked mostly with NNS.
