Insane 🤝

[Quant @quantnetwork]

UK banks have completed the first live customer transactions using tokenised sterling deposits, and they ran on the #GBTD platform built by Quant.

Delivered through the Great British Tokenised Deposit initiative, convened by @UKFtweets with @Barclays, @HSBC_UK, @LloydsBank, @monzo, @Nationwide, @NatWestGroup and @santanderuk, the transactions included:

➡️ Two remortgage completions, with funds locked and released automatically at completion
➡️ A marketplace purchase from a private seller, with payment released only once the goods were exchanged

Payments that execute the moment agreed conditions are met give customers more control and can help reduce fraud. More pilots are expected in the coming months, including digital asset settlement.

We're proud to have built the shared infrastructure behind this milestone, alongside @UKFtweets, the participating banks, @EYnews and Linklaters.

Money is entering a new era, and this week the UK proved it with real customer money.

UK banks and @UKFtweets have completed the first live customer transactions using tokenised sterling deposits on #GBTD, the platform built by @quantnetwork. Two remortgages and a marketplace purchase, each settling automatically the moment agreed conditions were met.

This is the move from simple push/pull transfers to #programmablepayments. Same trusted bank money, same protections, now able to carry its own rules.

And it happened on shared infrastructure, with #tokeniseddeposits moving between institutions on a common platform built for the whole industry.

This is where money is headed: programmable, always-on and moving seamlessly across the financial system.

Cheqd the hidden DID 💎
The market is obsessed with AI tokens, but what if the real opportunity is the infrastructure AI will need to trust itself?

Let's look at the numbers.

The entire Decentralized Identity (DID) sector is worth only ~$2.5B today.

Worldcoin ≈ $1.7B
ENS ≈ $200M
Ontology ≈ $50M
Civic ≈ $20M
SPACE ID ≈ $12M

Then there is cheqd at roughly ~$3M.

Yet cheqd is positioning itself at the intersection of four massive trends:

• Decentralized Identity (DID)
• Verifiable Credentials
• AI Agents
• Trust & Payment Infrastructure

Most people think AI is simply about intelligence.

The next challenge is trust.

How does an AI agent prove who it is?
How does it prove its qualifications?
How does it prove ownership of data?
How does it prove it has permission to act?
How does another AI verify those claims?

The answer is not more intelligence.

The answer is credentials, reputation, verification and trust.

This is where the DID sector becomes interesting.

Today the sector is worth only ~$2.5B, a fraction of AI, DeFi or Layer 1 valuations.

But if the future consists of billions of humans and millions of AI agents interacting digitally, identity becomes a foundational layer of the internet.

Every AI agent may eventually need:

✓ Identity
✓ Credentials
✓ Reputation
✓ Verification
✓ Payments for trust services

That's not a niche market.

That's digital infrastructure.

The reason I find cheqd interesting is not because it's guaranteed to succeed.

It's because the market is valuing it as if this opportunity barely exists.

At ~$3M market cap:

• Matching Civic = ~7x
• Matching Ontology = ~17x
• Matching ENS = ~65x
• Matching Worldcoin = 500x+

High risk? Absolutely.

But some of the biggest returns in crypto have come from identifying infrastructure before the market understands why it matters.

The AI race isn't just about building smarter agents.

It's about building trusted agents.

And that may be where the next chapter of decentralized identity begins.

For the Decentralized Identity (DID) narrative, is much more important than many people realize.

Why MiCA Matters for DID
MiCA is the European Union's comprehensive crypto regulation framework. While it does not directly regulate DIDs, it creates a compliant environment where digital identity becomes increasingly valuable.

The DID narrative benefits from MiCA in four major ways:
1. KYC Becomes Mandatory
Exchanges, custodians, and crypto service providers operating in the EU must comply with strict AML/KYC requirements.
This creates demand for:
Reusable digital identities
Verifiable credentials
Privacy-preserving KYC
Cross-platform identity portability
Projects like are positioning themselves as infrastructure for this future.

2. Institutional Adoption Needs Trust
MiCA opens the door for banks, asset managers, and large enterprises to enter crypto.
Institutions need:
Trusted onboarding
Verified users
Credential verification
Regulatory reporting
Identity becomes a core layer of the crypto stack, similar to how SSL certificates became essential for the internet.

3. AI + Identity Convergence
One of the biggest emerging narratives is proving:
Is this a real person?

Is this a real AI agent?

Can this credential be trusted?

As AI agents begin transacting on-chain, DID infrastructure becomes critical.

This is where projects focused on verifiable credentials and trust infrastructure could see significant growth.

4. Travel Rule Compliance
The EU's implementation of the crypto Travel Rule requires regulated entities to share sender and recipient information.
Traditional compliance is expensive and fragmented.
DIDs and Verifiable Credentials offer a more efficient model:
Verify once
Reuse many times
Share only required information
Maintain user privacy

What This Means for cheqd
The bullish thesis for is that it sits at the intersection of:
DID
Verifiable Credentials
Regulatory compliance
AI trust
Enterprise identity

Most crypto narratives focus on:
Payments
DeFi
RWA
AI

But every one of those sectors eventually requires trust and identity.

If MiCA succeeds in driving institutional crypto adoption across Europe, identity infrastructure providers could become some of the biggest beneficiaries.

Simple Investment Narrative

MiCA → Compliance → Identity Requirements → Verifiable Credentials → DID Infrastructure → cheqd

That's the narrative many DID investors are watching over the next 3–5 years. The question is not whether identity will be needed, but which networks become the trust layer for digital credentials and AI agents.
$CHEQ $WLD

[Ultra Chemfy @bigbagz30k]

OK, let's make this simple.

Current = DID:WEB......
Coming = DID:CHEQD......
Coming = DID:CHEQD artefacts

Artefacts aka = #DLR - DID(:CHEQD) Linked Resources

NEW DID = $2.00 operation
NEW DLR = $0.20 operation

@cheqd_io built a pricing oracle for live conversion of $CHEQ used for settlement of these operations.

So, $CHEQ @ $0.002~ means ;

27,000 NEW DIDS = $2.00 / $0.002 = 1,000 cheq PER DID

27,000 x 1,000 = 27,000,000 tokens ; or 2%~ of supply and 99% burn rates.

You can find the link in the comments.

Vouched donated MCP-I to the Decentralised Identity Foundations #DIF

That MCP-I, is now KYA-OS.

https://t.co/McSZPQcKNf is an implementation of this code.

We are approaching a world where 27,000 agents would not even make up a rounding error.

Also, AI agents / Autonomous agents are not confound to maturity of 18 years or so like an adult.

They can be spun up at will. 🧠

Have you ran the maths of this small scale amount of AI agents needed DID:CHEQD identifiers?

Have you ran the numbers for reports/audits as operations on @cheqd_io network?

Do you know that there's a price oracle for operation costs converted into $cheq used?

Eg, a DID write $2.00 @ token price $0.002 is 1000 cheq alone.

There will be billions of AI agents in the future, and beyond.

More trusted interactions, demands more teust registries.

Cheqd is a trust registry, its infrastructure.

It is a immutable, persistent and transparent cryptographically verifiable data registry.

[Cryptopeet @Crypto_peet]

Most people still think digital #identity and #SSI are niche.

I think they are potentially becoming foundational infrastructure for the AI era.

Because once #AI agents start operating autonomously across commerce, finance, healthcare, logistics and the internet itself, trust becomes the bottleneck.

Agents need:
🟠 cryptographic identity
🟠 verifiable permissions
🟠 trusted registries
🟠 decentralized key management
🟠 interoperable trust rails

And increasingly, governments, enterprises and cybersecurity agencies are all pointing in the same direction.

If it proves true that decentralized trust becomes a core internet primitive, then the upside scenarios for infrastructure providers like @cheqd_io - $CHEQ stop looking crazy very quickly.

That is the bet.

I wrote a deeper thesis below on why I think the “Internet of Trust” could become one of the biggest infrastructure narratives of the next decade:

[Cryptopeet @Crypto_peet]

The France digital identity breach exposing data from millions of citizens is exactly why the next generation of identity infrastructure matters.

The old model:
→ giant centralized databases
→ single points of failure
→ institutions storing everything
→ trust based on “just trust us”

In the #AI era, this becomes unsustainable.
Deepfakes, synthetic identities, automated phishing, and AI-driven fraud are scaling exponentially.

This is why I’m increasingly interested in infrastructure like @cheqd_io - $CHEQ.

Not as “another crypto project”, but as part of a future trust layer for the internet:
🟠 verifiable credentials
🟠 decentralized trust registries
🟠 issuer verification
🟠 cryptographic trust chains
🟠 portable identity

Europe is already moving toward EUDI/eIDAS wallets and interoperable digital identity frameworks.
The next step is making identity and trust:
→ verifiable
→ interoperable
→ privacy-preserving
→ not dependent on massive centralized honeypots

AI is forcing the world to rethink trust infrastructure faster than most people realize.

[Cryptopeet @Crypto_peet]

We are heading into insane times with #AI.

AI agents will increasingly act on behalf of humans, companies, and institutions handling data, payments, healthcare, workflows, and decisions.

But there’s a massive problem emerging:

How do you verify:
🟠 who is real?
🟠 what data is trusted?
🟠 which agent is authorized?
🟠 who issued the information?
🟠 what actions are allowed?

Current systems are already hitting the ceiling.

Deepfakes break camera-based KYC.
Centralized authentication models were never designed for autonomous AI systems.

At the same time, Europe is quietly building the next identity layer with eIDAS 2.0 and the EUDI Wallet framework.

This is much bigger than most people realize.

We are moving toward an Internet of Trust:
➡️ verifiable identity
➡️ reusable credentials
➡️ programmable permissions
➡️ trusted agents acting on behalf of users

And this is where infrastructure like $CHEQ @cheqd_io becomes extremely interesting.

Trust registries, decentralized identity, verifiable credentials, issuer verification, these systems solve problems AI will massively amplify over the next decade.

Most people still look at this as “just identity”.

I think it becomes a foundational infrastructure layer for the AI era.

And infrastructure investments at the beginning of paradigm shifts historically have the biggest asymmetrical upside.
