@veorq Orthogonal observation:
Cryptographers: Get PQ-secure asap! Doomed! Quantum apocalypse! RLWE!
Other or same cryptographers: btw, did you see my brand new, awesome, beautiful, very sexy, provably-secure scheme (that relies on DL/factorization/ECs…)?
Theory: encryption must be IND-CCA2 and 128-bit, security by obscurity bad, dont roll your own crypto, use formal verification
Reality of software protection: bunch of XORs and bitshifts, FNV hash, obfuscation, often custom and/or whiteboxed code https://t.co/KGBUKV65aZ

1/8 Let's try something new !
For several years now, I've been teaching a master-level course in software reverse engineering and protection at the @hes_so.
7/8 This is an introductory course aimed at people with no or little experience in reverse engineering, and the prerequisites are modest: basic computer science, a good working knowledge of a low-level programming (C/C++ or Rust), and of the Linux operating system.
@ThomasPeyrin Come on Bleu Ciel and let's make old Twitter great again there! This platform has essentially become an unending flow of sh... and has been abandoned by most of the cool kids.
