The most exciting work throughout film history has been done in spite of the system. There is no legitimacy or prestige to be found on the internet. But there is an audience, and creative freedom. And that's all you need to make a "real" film.
This is the problem when you do an interview about a new tour, book and show in the Mail. You chat for an hour and a half about it all and the headline writer chooses to make it about panic attacks- that I haven’t had in 30 years- and a bit of weight loss- they’re obsessed with weight loss 😂😂😂😂 that I talked about for 30 seconds- ah well- such is showbiz -

I'm often told that people think that Adult Sasha in Blue Heron is played by the director of the film/me. This was an intentional effect of the film, playing with the meta perception of reality vs fiction, but most of all is a huge testament to the performance by Amy Zimmer.
