Fantastic work by @resfoundation on the slurp index. I may try to extend to the island of Ireland as I suspect this may be a rare occasion where we can --- and really should --- be able to piece together a coherent dataset to explore living standards across both major islands.
Over the last three years, housebuilding in London has collapsed. Molior recorded just 2,158 private starts in the first half of 2025, around 5% of London’s (low) targets, and still falling.

which do you think is a better version of universal benefits
(a) everyone is entitled in a specific cross section (e.g. all pensioners)
(b) everyone under a certain income threshold, regardless of other characteristics
poverty, homelessness, lack of education, addiction, inequality, greed, mental illness - the biggest threats our country face and will continue to face while everyone wastes time pointing fingers at immigrants
