#naileditathome The girls are ready for this robot decorating challenge! We are also walking around saying buttercream in a French accent. This daughter is looking forward to seeing her ‘idol’ @jacquestorres! @nicolebyer@NailedIt
What does love mean during a pandemic? A journal entry about being on the front lines that became a reflection about what we must do to protect those we love. The better we are at #socialdistancing, the sooner we can all reunite. #flattenthecurve@nytimes

Cuteness alert! With the help of @cslherman, LocknCharge was able to donate a Carrier 20 Cart to @swiftelem, part of @chipubschools. This adorable preschooler had a great time pushing the cart around and wanted to report that, "It works well on wheels!"

The average 500-student school in Chicago has 21 fewer staff members than the average 500-student school in Illinois. How many of those 21 missing positions was CTU asking Mayor Lightfoot for?

Day 8 of the Chicago teacher’s strike. It’s incredibly stressful for everyone!
Today our amazing teachers left notes for the students. Coonley is extremely fortunate to have such amazing teachers! #CTUstrike, @CoonleyLibrary@lbertucci3@CoonleyES@Loza_at_Coonley
Here’s a question— if CPS had 435 librarians in 2013, 128 last year, and 108 this year, how many will be left at the end of the next contract if language for librarians is not part of the contract? #CTUSEIUstrike#CPSNeedsLibrarians
If you aren’t following #CPSNeedsLibrarians, you are missing first-hand stories of the decimation of school librarians positions in ALA’s home town under @chicagosmayor (past & present?) & the impact on our students @sljournal@aasl@amlibraries
Given that ISBE is monitoring CPS in SPED, how can CPS not need to provide some common prep time for the collaboration that is required in students IEPs? #CTUSEIUstrike#CTU
Ctu President Jesse Sharkey said this morning That the school district is dug in it’s heals and given a firm no to prep time and increase pay for veteran teachers. In fact he said that is why CEO Janice Jackson walked away from the table last night.
I've visited hundreds of schools across the country. One pattern stands out: Librarians have a HUGE impact on individual students as well as overall school culture. Sadly, many Chicago schools do not have this benefit. I support @ChiSLibrarians! #CTUstrike
As much as I respect our CEO’s intelligence/experiences we must remember that since she’s appointed her position is based on doing what Mayor Lightfoot wants, without public challenge.
An elected school board would help change this.

Where would Harry be if Hermione could not access the Library? Unfortunately only 25% of CPS students have a librarian. This is one of the many reasons Chicago Teachers are on strike #CPSNeedsLibrarians@jk_rowling@CTULocal1@chicagosmayor
Yes, I agree 100%
The schools in the 47th Ward are wonderful, but every child in the city deserves to go to a fully staffed school. It's not right for your education to be dependent on parents' ability to fundraise
We need nurses, librarians, and social workers on every school
