Yesterday, I had the opportunity to interact with several MSME entrepreneurs in Hyderabad. The brainstorming and discussions were eye-opening.

One thing became very clear: many of the real problems faced by entrepreneurs are still not adequately addressed by government policies, despite numerous announcements and initiatives.

MSMEs need more than headlines and policy statements. They need ease of doing business in reality, timely approvals, access to affordable finance, reliable infrastructure, skilled manpower, market access, and predictable regulations.

Unfortunately, policy discussions often appear to focus more on short-term visibility and electoral narratives than on building a long-term industrial ecosystem.

Entrepreneurs may not always be a large vote bank, but they are job creators, wealth creators and engines of economic growth.

Governments and policymakers must listen directly to entrepreneurs, understand their ground-level challenges and design policies with measurable outcomes.

We need policies that survive elections, not policies designed only for elections.

A strong MSME sector means more jobs, stronger businesses and a stronger economy.
