📖 A diverse set of stakeholders from @ALLIANCE_org ranked patient QOL as most important above all other metrics including survival. More than half felt inclusion of PROs into therapeutic assessment should be a priority ➡️ https://t.co/SN0iBs7dDK @CaseyJackAllen@GreenupRachel

@ThanksCancer Feeling like a ticking time bomb of disease recurrence. The immense impact on family and friend support frameworks over time. The onslaught of long term side effects from treatment and from the disease process…. And scanxiety
@JonClar58684712 @ThanksCancer Undifferentiated Pleomorphic Sarcoma of the maxilla. 4 cycles of chemo (5 infusions each) then surgery to resect, then combo 31 days of radiation and 3 more cycles of chemo.
+ chemo pill each day
My chemo infusions were all in-pt for 3 days each
NED so far. 1yr post Tx on 12/24
@elissaben70 Hi Elissa! My hair started falling out about a week after my first chemo infusion. I decided to shave it off so it would stop getting everywhere and to feel like I could control one thing in my life. You are not alone. Nothing you feel is wrong.
@DSengineer2019@ThanksCancer I had chemo every three weeks and my onc prescribed Zarxio (filgrastim-sndz) subq injections x10 days after each infusion session. My ANC was never a problem for starting the next chemo infusion
@Kat42219051@ThanksCancer Do not under any circumstance go to the gym alone and attempt the workout routine you did before cancer. I did. Came approx 2cm from passing out. Go slow. Be kind to yourself. Hydrate well. And find a form of exercise you find some joy from.
@solongsarcoma@ThanksCancer Honestly.. for me, those appts make the NED feel real. Hearing him actually say it is worth the copay for its effect on me and my mental stability
@BearroristJodi@ThanksCancer I had 6 wks of head/neck radiation and my taste came back within a month. During tx I liked spicy food so I could feel something (if I didn’t have any open mouth sores). And protein shakes to get nutrition. It sucks- but you can get through it
@ThanksCancer It was a fairly alarming and almost emasculating experience for me 😬. No one told me I would loose all of my body hair at once. Another reminder that I had no control
@lghazal A2: AYA Sarcoma Dx during summer break from nursing school- returning this spring to finish my last 4 BSN semesters. Now planning on Onc RN hopefully w/ AYAs. I had a peds dx at 4yrs which inspired nursing- but now renewed commitment and calling #AYACSM
