Here's a clip of Chuck Schumer bragging about blocking the "Jackson plank," which was a proposed 1988 DNC platform item by Jesse Jackson's presidential campaign supporting Palestinian self-determination.
RIP Jesse Jackson
Shout out to Katie Porter for engaging in the proud progressive tradition of staying in the race long past when she could actually win, splitting the vote, and handing the election to a centrist Democrat that takes money from oil companies
@Awwrnold@tetrarosie@Zoomer_Doomer_ Not this election revolving around this stupid ass reductive YIMBY/NIMBY bs that isn’t even that relevant to the HoR now 🙄
@SapnaPatelAW I should trust the people who viciously attacked and tried to discredit every primary opponent Nancy Pelosi and her endorsee faced from their left? Why?
My two biggest takeaways from yesterday’s elections:
1) it’s easier for vocally anti-genocide Dems to build winning coalitions of supporters (Hamawy in NJ-12) than for “progressive” Zionists to do so (Raman in LA and Steyer)
2) CA-11 voters are irredeemably stupid
This is the sleaziest thing I’ve ever seen a politician ever do, but the average California Dem sees this and thinks “we have to make this guy our next governor”
The progressive primary movement we have today wouldn't be possible without @saikatc's leadership.
Thank you Saikat for challenging the Dem establishment head on, building the biggest ground game SF has ever seen, & being committed to growing our movement for working people.
@doomloopdisp How much did Steyer spend on negative ads against Becerra? And who was the candidate that PG&E, y’all’s utility monopoly, spent over $13 million attacking?
@SilverCharmer From what I’ve seen CA local media is also very pro-establishment and CA voters seem a lot more trusting of it than East Coasters are with mainstream media and our local pro-establishment media.
@AnonymousLeftie That’s true. I know it’s possible but it’s hard to imagine a stark enough difference between the counted vs uncounted ballot trends to make a difference in the results. Though I keep hearing it’s way more Democratic and potentially much more progressive leaning
@Trickilpatrick He expected every interview his team lined up for him to be with a full blown supporter of his like the “profile piece” he did with @ananavarro
