Your brain cannot tell the difference between a disaster that is happening and one you are only rehearsing.
That’s why worst-case-scenario thinking isn’t “just being prepared.” It is building a brain that learns how to stay afraid.
Neuroplasticity means you don’t live with the brain you were born with. You live with the brain you keep building.
Spend enough time in the spiral and your amygdala stays online while your frontal lobes, the part that actually solves problems, go quiet. Cortisol rises. Sleep drops. The thing you’re trying to avoid becomes more likely, not less.
Two thousand years ago Paul already knew the move: don’t be anxious about anything, but in everything, with prayer and thanksgiving, present your requests to God (Philippians 4:6-7).
Anxiety and gratitude turn opposite directions on the same volume knob. One goes up, the other goes down.
Next time the “what if this ends in disaster” thought shows up, try the other question: “What if it works out?”
Hit that follow button and we'll work together every day to connect neuroscience and scripture to help you thrive.
Save this for your next worst-case monent. Share it with someone whose brain is stuck in disaster mode.

Why the State Needs Weak Men and Radicalized Women
Orwell warned us that “It was always the women, and above all the young ones, who were the most bigoted adherents of the Party, the swallowers of slogans, the amateur spies and nosers-out of unorthodoxy.”
Once the state has radicalized women into a mass movement that can be turned on dissidents, weak men follow.
Males adapt to whatever the mating market rewards, and once the moral consensus of women has been captured, low-status men adopt the sanctioned positions.
I love people who have survived enough to become strange instead of cruel. Give me the person with peculiar rituals. Too many books. A bizarre sense of humor. Three different lives already lived. An oddly specific obsession. A softness they had every excuse to lose. Those are my people.
I heard someone say, satan got adam and eve to fix their eyes on one tree when god had already given them an entire garden, think about that. The enemy didn't have to convince them that they had nothing. He just had to make them forget everything that they already had. And he still, till this day, uses the same strategy. He gets us to focus on relationships we don't have, the job that we don't have, the opportunity we don't have, the healing we haven't seen yet. Meanwhile, we are blind to the countless prayers god has already answered. Gratitude isn't pretending you don't want more, it's refusing to let what you don't have make you forget the goodness of god that's already surrounding you.
One of Satan's goal is to destroy your ability to love people because that's what makes you like Jesus the most. That's why he attacks your forgiveness, your patience and your compassion. Because when you stop loving people, you stop reflecting Jesus. Guard your heart and continue loving
Muhammad said to kill the infidel.
Jesus said to love your enemies.
Upon his death, Muhammad cursed the Jews and Christians.
Upon his death, Jesus said to forgive them, they know not what they do.
Easy decision.
I choose Jesus Christ.
The greatest lie ever told about totalitarianism is that it begins with a handful of powerful men imposing their will on an unwilling people.
The opposite is often closer to the truth.
Totalitarian movements recruit the weak, the resentful, and the disordered, then mobilize them into a collective that imposes its will on the minority still willing to think and act independently.
