Pre-empt: Just overheard someone finding oligodendrocytes genes in microglial and had these questions in mind. Not sure if they're valid or not. 😅

Are there any studies out there that uses fluorescent protein expressing cells (IE: GFP in microglial and RFP in astrocytes) and FACS to study phagocytic function? Also following up with sequencing in those isolated cells?

Q3: Is there any way of proving if these genes that are not normally expressed, are somehow functional in the phagocytic cell (IE: Take on a function they're not normally involved in?). I am thinking something along the lines of protein expression to at least price expression?
