Sometimes I wonder if nature inverted how it gave wisdom. What if we started off with maximum wisdom and depreciate as we grow older. So that your 20 and 30 and 40 year old body has 60, 70, and 80 year old wisdom. And your 50, 60, and 70 year old body has the exuberance of youth.

If nature deliberately mismatched physical age and mental age, how life would feel.

At 20, you have the body of a 20 year old but the perspective of an 80 year old. You know which ambitions are hollow, which friendships matter, how little other people’s opinions count, and how quickly time disappears. But unlike an actual 80 year old, you have the health, energy and decades ahead of you to act on that knowledge.

VJi, There is a famous dialogue from Yes Prime Minister. This apology reminds me of that. In that, Sir Humprey’s apologises like this:

“I’m sorry that you should have found it necessary to interpret my remarks in that way.”

In other words, regret that the other person is upset, without apologising for what you actually did.
