@MichiganisMAGA@ClownWorld Looks like she’s picking up a purse that was hanging from a hook under the bar - you can see the strap of the purse on her hand. I don’t think she was confronting her about the bill.
@apsitjen@MACUL Attended 3 of your sessions and took away great ideas! You are an outstanding presenter. Thank you!! (I had the Notebook LM app in today’s session).
Reading The Outsiders, chapter 7, and it just struck me: If it had taken place today, someone probably would have set up a GoFundMe for the Curtis family after all the publicity about them in the newspaper. @se4realhinton
That moment at the Duran Duran concert when John Taylor saw me in my sparkly dress. Unforgettable show in Detroit Saturday night! @duranduran#FuturePast
@FlyFrontier My son is still waiting for even an update on a bag that didn’t get on his flight from MCO to DTW on 7/1. Reported it missing upon arrival to DTW. He is active duty military and has to return to his duty station soon. He’s checked daily for updates. Nothing. Help!
OMG! Just got tix to see @duranduran in Detroit! Splurged on amazing seats 3 rows from stage! My 14 year-old-self is DYING!!My 53 year-old-self is DYING!!! The only band I ever loved that I never had the chance to see in concert. Husband will need earplugs. Yes - that’s me at 14!
I’ve been reading so many tweets about the sub shortage/disruptive students. I have to say, I am fortunate to teach in this community. I love this description of my middle school students that the sub left yesterday. #substitute#middleschool#k12#teacherlife
Just a few months ago Michael was in Syria. The news of the earthquake is unreal. I’m relieved he’s back in the US, and I’m praying for those affected.
@cmattmetric Thank you Chad. Your Emily was also an important part of their childhood. They loved having her over to babysit when I’d drag myself to the gym every week. You have also done a great job with your kiddos.
I can so clearly remember playing catch in the basement with Ben. Playing MarioKart with Michael. Now they are adults out in the world. It went by. So. Fast.
Why do I spend more time fretting my shortcomings as a teacher than I do celebrating my successes as a mother? My role as a teacher is not my only role, nor is it the most important of my life’s work.
@halseanderson my favorite chapter in Chains is the “Christmas” chapter where Isabel undergoes transformation “cleaner than I had after my bath”Along with Grandfather and his words about finding her River Jordan, I appreciate the Biblical allusions.
@NAEmmanuele But when students hand in work and ask, “Is this going to be graded?” I know that for some, if I say “yes”, they will take the work back and review it before turning in. If it isn’t graded, I’ll give feedback and use for whole class instruction that day or next.
@NAEmmanuele My son would agree. Fortunately, when he learns, high grades have been the outcome. When he struggled to learn geometry in middle school, he realized that he appreciated learning more than grades & started working harder to learn in all of his classes, even those he found “easy”
@edudissenter Keep it up! You’re a good teacher. It’s because the students change every year. Some parts stay the same - but others change to suit their needs.
@Ebonyteach Mile Rds. At MSU all the D area students would share what Mile Rd/CrossRd they lived by. I never understood ‘til I moved here. Coming from Jaxn, all I ever got was “isn’t that where the prison is?” I thought every city in MI had a prison like ours. Seriously. I didn’t know much.
