First and foremost, this post isn’t meant to bash @SPYderMomTrades in any way.
This is simply a clear example of something I’ve consistently talked about when it comes to trading 0DTE options.
I’ve recently told her that consistently taking small gains on 0DTE isn’t a strategy that tends to hold up over the long run. You can build up weeks of profits, only to have a single losing trade wipe out a large portion of those gains.
I’ve yet to see a trader with verified trade logs who consistently profits trading 0DTE while targeting less than 10% gains per trade as their primary strategy. The combination of relatively low win rates and tight stop losses makes it extremely difficult to maintain a positive expectancy. Even highly accurate entry signals struggle to overcome that math.
When I brought this up to her, I did my best to be respectful—we all know how FinTwit can be. To her credit, she’s clearly made adjustments, and you can see the difference reflected in her P&L. Once you understand that your winners need to be large enough to offset your inevitable losses, the equity curve starts to look very different.
That’s exactly why I built my Profit/Loss Calculator.
I encourage every trader to be completely honest with themselves. Export your trade history from your broker, paste it into AI, and calculate your win rate, average win, and average loss. Then plug those numbers into my calculator to see your actual expectancy and how close you are to becoming consistently profitable.
The market doesn’t care about opinions—it only cares about the math.
