One of the biggest things I can note from recruiting ⬇️

Do not pick a school because of how much money they give you.

Do not pick a school because they gave you a deadline and you feel pressured to make a decision.

Do not pick a school just because it’s D1.

PICK the school that feels like HOME.

PICK the school that has the resources you need to be successful in your athletic career and professional career afterwards.

PICK the school that has your best interests at heart.

PICK the school that is competitive in their division.

If JUCO,

PICK the school that is DEVOTED to moving you on to a 4 year.

PICK the school that isn’t scared to play big competition.

PICK the school that will get the most out of you.

Choosing a college is a big decision, don’t settle because of a deadline, the amount of money, or the division. Choose it because it fits YOU.

College Freshman
1. Pick the right kids on the team to hang around
2. DO NOT get involved with the party crowd
3. Get to sleep at a reasonable time every night
4. Don't go home until Thanksgiving if school isn't in your hometown/area (plant roots and make new friends)
5. Do more than expected, be engaged and earn respect with work ethic and maturity
Remember, nobody cares what you did in HS/Travel Ball, if you were drafted or who scouted you. You're starting over. You have to earn respect.

If you want your catchers to do the right things, you have to acknowledge the effort.

I caught a lot of games. A lot.

A coach yelling out good job, or just acknowledging you busting your ass to back up 1B, call out fence on a foul, or block a ball w/no one on goes a long ways.
