@RickPalaciosJr@chitoforatx The problem is that we have some of the highest property taxes in the state and nation. As a result, this chart is misleading as to the “fair price.” I’m calculate when you add back excessive taxes, prices are closer 25% over the baseline, not 6%.
@MattMackowiak It is striking that we pay confiscatory levels of property taxes (on inflated home values) & despite this ocean of funding, the district runs a staggering budget deficit. In fairness, AISD sends 40% to other districts.
Add to that: 1) What percent of that $7500 per person goes to salaries and bonuses, 2) How much of that allocation goes back to lobbyists & donations to promote the appropriations l, and 3) What, if any, metrics are in place to cause this spend to stop of it fails? How much is too much?
