Yesterday, I had the opportunity to join @DanForDuPage5, Candidate for DuPage County Board, at his parents’ restaurant, The Fat Guy Sandwich Shop in Lisle. It was great to meet his family and hear firsthand about their journey as immigrant small business owners pursuing the American Dream.

Small businesses are the backbone of our communities. They create jobs, support local economies, and represent the entrepreneurial spirit that makes our country strong. Listening to their story reinforced the importance of keeping taxes low, reducing unnecessary regulations, and creating an environment where hardworking families and business owners can succeed.

Thank you to Dan and his family for the warm welcome, the great conversation, and the delicious food (especially the Sonny Sandwich). I fully support peace and a safer world. One thing is clear: Iran must never be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon.

For decades, the Iranian regime has been a leading state sponsor of terrorism, funding and supporting extremist groups that have threatened stability throughout the Middle East and endangered American interests, our allies, and innocent lives around the world.

While we should always pursue peace through strength and diplomacy whenever possible, we must also be realistic. Iran’s leaders have repeatedly demonstrated that they cannot be blindly trusted. Any agreement or policy involving Iran must be backed by strong verification, accountability, and an unwavering commitment to protecting our national security.

Today is Jeff’s birthday.

As his wife, I’ve had the privilege of watching him wear many hats over the years as a husband, father, friend, business owner, community leader, and now candidate for Congress.

What I’ve always admired most about Jeff is that he genuinely cares about people. Whether he’s helping a neighbor, supporting a local organization, or listening to concerns from families across our district, he approaches every challenge with the same commitment: finding solutions and making a difference.

I am pleased that @GovPritzker’s BUILD Act did not advance. This proposal would have taken away local control and created more burdens for communities across Illinois.

I was proud to help lead the charge against the BUILD Act alongside mayors, trustees, and community leaders who stood together to say enough is enough.

Today, I had the honor of attending the Quilts of Valor ceremony at the St Charles, Illinois Moose Lodge 1368. It was a truly humbling experience to see veterans recognized for their service and sacrifice to our nation.

I was deeply honored to be presented with a Quilt of Valor today. These quilts represent comfort, healing, and appreciation for those who have served our country with courage and dedication.

David and Brenda McDowell got their triplets vaccinated with the pneumococcal shot, only for all three children to “shut off on the SAME DAY.”

The first child to get jabbed was their daughter Claire, who “never really stopped screaming after that.” Within hours post-vax, Claire “shut completely off.”

By 2 p.m., Claire’s brother Richie “shut off,” too. And his raspberry-blowing and furniture walking suddenly disappeared.

“Robbie looked like he was hit by a bus. Robbie, from that moment on, had a stunned look on his face. If you asked or said his name, he still acted deaf and acted like he couldn’t hear.”

All three were later diagnosed with severe autism. Only one, Robbie, showed partial recovery after years of therapy.

These injuries aren’t random. They happen when multiple core systems in the body fail at the same time.
