I firmly believe that @davidjollyfl will be our next Governor. He would not lie like @RonDeSantis or use the families of a mass shooting the way that DeSantis did or is doing here with @ByronDonalds.
These laws were passed because of the Parkland shooting. It is a fact that when DeSantis ran for Governor in 2018, he met with our families. He not only supported these laws, he promised to defend them. He used our families as part of his campaign to ride to office as these laws were passed because of our work. He is a despicable human who LIED to get into office and has been a liar since. Because I know him to be a fraud, the reality that he and his wife committed crimes and laundered 10 million dollars through her foundation does not surprise me. I hope he pays a future price for everything awful that he have done.
She lost the biggest song in country music to Dolly. Then she sat down and sang it with her.
“If I can’t have it, I want you to have it.”
Tammy Wynette said it on Dolly’s show in 1988 after admitting 9 to 5 had finally beaten Stand By Your Man. Then they sang the hits on two stools, no production, Dolly finding a harmony that should not sit that high.
Both of them are gone. The clip still sounds like nobody else was allowed in the room.
🚨 BREAKING:
Kelly: "When Trump was bankrupting the Taj Mahal casino, I was taking fire over Iraq... When Trump was writing birthday wishes to Epstein, I was among the first to arrive at the scene to recover the bodies of my fellow astronauts... When Trump was pushing conspiracy theories against President Obama, I was sitting beside my wife's hospital bed... I've been through far worse in service to my country. The president and Pete Hegseth will not silence me."
Dolly Parton really spent 80 years proving you can be Southern, Christian, blonde, rhinestoned, country as hell and still understand that human rights are for everyone.
Rest in Peace Queen 👑
Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are handing over a whole day of business to Dolly's books.
They are calling September 25 Dolly Day at Friends in Low Places, their bar on Broadway in Nashville. Every dollar that register takes that day goes to the Imagination Library. Trisha put it plain. Whatever the cash register says at the end of the day is going to Dolly's passion.
The date is 9/25, for "9 to 5."
And they are not doing it once. It becomes an annual thing at that bar.
Garth's line was that Dolly is proof if you spend your whole life loving, you will live forever.
Moody and Uthmeier have the audacity to ask voters to return them to office after stealing $10M in taxpayer funds meant to give kids healthcare.
Voters must hold them accountable in November.
For the next 65 days, they’re going to tell us to hate each other.
But hate won’t lower your insurance bill. Division won’t improve your child’s school. Attacking your neighbors won’t make health care more affordable.
Floridians are asking for something better.
Leadership focused on housing, health care, and education. A state where the economy works for everyone, our rights are protected, and we remember that we have far more in common than our politics would have us believe.
The attacks will come fast and hard. We’re going to stay focused on you.
I believe we are capable of rising above the division. I believe in the goodness of the people of this state.
For the next 65 days, let’s Believe in Better.
Dolly Parton sat across from Wendy Williams in that bright studio, blue top gleaming, hair doing what Dolly hair always did: arriving three minutes before she did.
Wendy leaned in, already grinning. “Okay, I have to ask. Do you ever just… take it off? Like at night. At home. Pajamas. No cameras. No nothing.”
Dolly laughed before the question even finished. “Oh, honey. You mean go to bed looking like a regular person?”
“Yes!”
“Well.” Dolly folded her hands, rings catching the lights. “I spend a lot of time in California, and California has a habit of shaking when it feels like it. I thought, if I have to run out in the street in the middle of the night, there are going to be cameras. News vans. Neighbors with phones. And I refuse to be on the eleven o’clock news looking like I lost a fight with a pillow.”
Wendy screamed. “So you sleep in the makeup?”
“I sleep ready,” Dolly said. “I don’t answer the door without hair and a little paint on. I keep a wig close enough that if the ground starts dancing, I can grab it on the way out. I might go wigless around the house in the morning with some rollers in, but I am not meeting an earthquake barefaced. That’s just poor planning.”
Wendy slapped the desk. “The only emergency you’d consider it for?”
Dolly thought for half a second. “If Carl(her husband) had a heart attack. And even then I’d have to really think about it. I’d pray for him and check a mirror. A woman can do two things at once.”
The audience howled. Wendy wiped her eyes.
“So that’s the secret,” Wendy said. “You’re not high-maintenance. You’re disaster-prepared.”
Dolly pointed at her. “That’s right. Some people keep bottled water and batteries. I keep lipstick and a backup wig. If the world’s ending, I still want to look like Dolly Parton when it does.”
Wendy sat back, delighted. “Iconic.”
Dolly smiled, sweet and sharp at the same time. “Well, I worked too hard to look like this to let a little tremor catch me undone.”
Let me make this simple. VOTE FOR @davidjollyfl. AS THE NEXT GOVERNOR OF FLORIDA.
What @ByronDonalds is saying is ignore the corruption that is directly affecting the lives of Floridians. He talks about the high cost of living in Florida, but wants to ignore the fact that it is the direct result of decades of Republican party power, policies, and corruption.
VOTE FOR JOLLY!!!
Moody and Uthmeier allowed taxpayer money for children’s medical care to be stolen, laundered and used for political gain.
Both must be held accountable by the law, and at the ballot box in November.
