@IslingtonBC@CycleIslington please can you put a yellow box at the junction of Holloway Road and Madras Place? Someone is going to get hurt before long!
@UnionJacked__@lukeakehurst Depends how explicitly you can link it. If you can announce them at the same time i.e. "we're allowing these new fields, and we'll use the resulting tax to fund these renewables/insulation investments" then that could work
@YoContextKev@lukeakehurst@iamhamesh If it's not going to meaningfully lower gas/oil prices, it won't lead to more gas/oil use, just more tax revenue for the government (which it can then spend on building renewables)
@guybmyles@GrusTopGuy@AscendedYield Exactly, only large housebuilders can take that risk and therefore can get the resulting large gains. Small & medium housebuilders can't cope when the scenario is 80% of the time you get 30% profit and 20% of the time you make a huge loss.
@paulpowlesland@DanNeidle@owenjonesjourno This would be a great solution if councils only had to pay for bins & the upkeep of the roads... Unfortunately they also have to pay for social care and SEN spending which is significantly more
@SadHugheslaw@JamesFl We've tried increasing the number of doctors by 0.7% per year, but we still have long hospital waiting lists! Clearly adding doctors is doing nothing to improve waiting lists
@IslingtonBC@CycleIslington please can you put a yellow box at the junction of Holloway Road and Madras Place? Someone is going to get hurt before long!
@Michael_J_Hil@limebike You could mandate cameras on all Lime bikes, but then for parity you'd probably have to mandate dashcams on all commercial vehicles which might be a non-starter
@TfL Please can you sort the lights at the junction of Essex Road and New North Road? The lights give about a second for vehicles to clear the junction before turning green
